Lipetsk State Technical University was organized in 1956 as an evening faculty of the Tula Mechanical Institute. At present, the Lipetsk State Technical University is a multidisciplinary institution that trains specialists for the metallurgical, machine-building, chemical and other industries, as well as for academic, university and industrial science. In LSTU organically combines several areas: natural science, technical, humanitarian, social, economic. The prestige of any institution is determined, first of all, by the level of qualification of the teaching staff. The purpose of the personnel policy of the LSTU is the formation of a highly professional team. The staff of the university consists of well-known scientists and specialists, many of whom have academic degrees and titles, were awarded the titles "Honored Worker of Science of the Russian Federation", "Honored Worker of Higher and Professional Education of the Russian Federation." A high level of the educational process at the LSTU is provided by 523 qualified specialists, including 59 doctors of science, professors, 281 candidates of science, associate professors, 32 full members and a corresponding member of domestic and international academies of science. There are 44 departments at the university, including general scientific and special ones; There is a postgraduate course in 33 scientific specialties and doctoral studies in 7 scientific specialties; 2 specialized councils for the protection of candidate and doctoral dissertations.
